ABC Family is making Christmas 2009 begun early with the “Countdown to 25 Days before Christmas” beginning on Nov. 10, 2009. The 21 days of programming will includes holiday classics, animated favorites and ABC Family original movies, all leading up to the “25 Days of Christmas,” which starts on December 1.
Every year they push their countdown closer and closer to November 1, and I have a feeling that in the next couple of years we will see holiday movies airing on ABC Family right after Halloween. The network started the “25 Days of Christmas” in 1996 and began the “Countdown to 25 Days before Christmas” in 2007 thanks to outstanding holiday ratings the previous years.
The “Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas” is, as you may have guessed it, mostly Christmas movies, but viewers will get to see a few non-Christmas movies, such as “Aladdin” and “Tarzan.” Viewers will also have one new movie to add to their collection this year: “The Dog Who Saved Christmas,” which is about an ex-police dog brought to a new home to protect the family inside from a string of burglaries in the neighborhood. At first, the dog isn’t much help due to the truth that he never barks, but on Christmas Eve he is truly put to the test when a burglar tries to break in to his home. Will he be able to save the day and Christmas?
