This summer, LeBron James took his 7th generation signature shoes Air Max LeBron VII and the designer Jensen Petrie to travel around the world. Before Petrie involved into LeBron’s epoch-making Air Max, James’shoes were designed by Ken Link. James has a lot of reasons to jump from Zoom to Max. And someone said that was to avoid KOBE’s road. But the real reason has much to do with his physical features. Zoom is only for light Defender and Small Forward, while Max is King James’ smart choice.
Evidence from rumor can not be the real reason of James’changing of shoes. But the coming out of a pair of shoes changed the track of the legend. That was Nike Kenzo Power between the 6th generation and the 7th. And it has another name Nike Zoom LeBron Power VI.
After the 2008 season, the style’s sample was shown on the Net. Someone said it was LeBron’s new signature shoe- LeBron 6. But the rumor died when the formal LeBron 6 was shown. And this falling down LeBron Power VI’s news of selling was delayed and never comes into the market. But we can know someone do not like this style (someone is not a fan, below notes). Some of Nike’s senior executives still find the shoes’ value. The shape of the 7th generation absorbs LeBron Power VI including lace locks, sole and streamline design. That was to say, LeBron Power VI was favoured by Nike’s senior executives. Compare with comments upon LeBron 6th formal edition, LeBron Power VI was somehow better. But why LeBron 6th changed its appearance?
That’s because someone don’t like. Above we have mentioned someone do not like LeBron Power VI as LeBron 6th generation. But he is neither the senior executive nor the fans, he is LeBron himself. Because the weight of him much differs from that when he first joined NBA. When he began to play in NBA, he did not know the confrontation was that serious. And he was featured by equivocality and speed. So Zoom fitted him well. But with the growing of confrontation, his weight fastly rise to 260 pound plus. Although LeBron Power VI was beautiful and practical, to a monster whose head can over the basket when he dunks and whose weight is similar to a center and who is faster than a general defender, the shoes must change.
Let’s speculate daringly, LeBron Power VI was once LeBron series’ orthodoxy. But his single layer Zoom Air Bed can not supply him enough buffer capacity and motive power. Thus double layer Zoom Air LeBron 6th formally comes into its use. Although double layer Zoom Air met an urgent need, Max series are the real need of LeBron. Through LeBron 6th eclectic, LeBron 7th lastly deserts Zoom Air and goes to Max.
Although LeBron Power VI did not become the orthodoxy, it can be equal to a pair of formal signature shoes.But it can be only the pearl deserted, and buried with the passing of years.
